Biography

Ana Isabel Montero is Professor of Global Cultural Studies and Latin American Studies at Willamette University. Born in Bilbao, Spain, she holds a law degree from the University of Deusto and a PhD in Spanish with a Certificate in Medieval Studies from Emory University. Trained in Medieval Iberian literature, her research has expanded to include contemporary Mexican literature. Her work is transhistorical and interdisciplinary, bridging medieval Iberian studies, global cultural analysis, and migration studies.
