Carah Ong Whaley is academics program officer at the Center for Politics at the University of Virginia and cohost of Politics Is Everything, a podcast with thoughtful discussions to inspire informed political and civic participation to strengthen democracy. J. Miles Coleman is associate editor of Sabato’s Crystal Ball, the University of Virginia Center for Politics’ nonpartisan newsletter on American campaigns and elections.
