Christiane P. Makward (D. Lit. Sorbonne) has been a Professor of French and Francophone Studies at The Pennsylvania State University for nearly thirty years. Her interests in contemporary literatures in French include Caribbean women's theatre and novel, and contemporary women writers generally. She has published several books, translations, and many articles in the field of feminist literary criticism.
