Biography

Constance L. Shehan is an internationally recognized scholar-teacher in the study of families and gender, with a primary focus on women’s work and family roles. At the University of Florida, she was a Professor in the Department of Sociology and in the Department of Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies. She was the first Director of the Women’s Studies Program, which preceded the current department and currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Family Issues.
