Biography
David McCandless is Professor of Theatre and Director of Shakespeare Studies at Southern Oregon University, USA. He is the author of Gender and Performance in Shakespeare’s Problem Comedies (Indiana, 1997) and articles on Shakespeare that have appeared in such journals as Shakespeare Quarterly. He has also directed over forty productions, including a dozen by Shakespeare. Previously he served as Professor of Theatre at the University of California, Berkeley, and Carleton College. He holds a joint Ph.D. in Drama and Humanities from Stanford University.
