Biography

David Uzzell is Professor Emeritus of Environmental Psychology in the School of Psychology, University of Surrey. He is a Fellow of the British Psychological Society and Past-President of the International Association of People-Environment Studies (IAPS). His principal research interests focus on public understandings of climate change, collective approaches to environmental change, environmental risk, and users’ experience of architecture, design, heritage and place. He has been visiting professor at the Universities of Strathclyde, Umeå, Queensland, Université Paris Nanterre and A Coruna. In addition to advising the UK Government and UNESCO on environmental issues, he has also spoken at meetings of the European Union, the United Nations, and the Congress of Deputies of the Spanish Parliament.
