Biography

Gauri Bharat is associate professor and Program Chair of Architectural History and Research at the Faculty of Architecture, CEPT University, Ahmedabad, India. She researches indigenous architecture, politics of place-making in India, and more recently, histories of materials and making. She authored 'In Forest, Field, and Factory: Adivasi Habitations Through Twentieth Century India' (SAGE - Yoda Press 2019), a volume on adivasi [indigenous] architectural history, and is currently working on socio-spatial histories of Ahmedabad and an architectural history of reinforced cement concrete in India.
