James is currently a practising barrister, specialising in data protection law. Prior to commencing practice at the Bar of Ireland, he worked in the Irish Data Protection Commission and as a legal adviser in the Legal Service of the Council of the European Union. James has a degree in Law and French from UCC and an LL.M in European Union Law from the College of Europe, Bruges.
