Biography

Jeffrey K. Olick is William R. Kenan, Jr. Professor of Sociology at the University of Virginia, USA. He is the author of In the House of the Hangman: The Agonies of German Defeat, 1943-1949 (2005) and The Politics of Regret: On Collective Memory and Historical Responsibility (2007). He is also the editor of States of Memory: Continuities, Conflicts, and Transformations in National Retrospection (2003).
