Biography

Maria Hlavajova is the founder and artistic director of BAK, basis voor actuele kunst, Utrecht, and artistic director of FORMER WEST (2008–2016). She has organized projects such as Future Vocabularies (2014–2016), New World Academy with artist Jonas Staal (2013–ongoing), international research projects and exhibitions with multiple artists, including Josef Dabernig, Sanja Ivekovic, Aernout Mik, Artur Zmijewski and Lawrence Weiner.
