Ralf Kauranen is a sociologist and comics scholar working as a Senior Research Fellow at the Department of Finnish Literature, University of Turku, Finland. He is the PI of the project “Diversity in Finnish Comics History: Minorities and Self-representation”, funded by the Society of Swedish Literature in Finland and the Swedish Cultural Foundation in Finland. His most recent publications include Comics and Migration: Representation and Other Practices (co-editor, 2023) and The Aesthetics and Politics of Linguistic Borders: Multilingualism in Northern European Literature (co-editor, 2020).
