Biography
Robert Koall (b. 1972, Cologne) initially studied law, literature, history and philosophy for several semesters at the Free University of Berlin. From 1995 to 1998, he was Christoph Schlingensief's assistant, before working as a dramaturg in Hamburg, Zurich and Hanover. He was head dramaturg at Staatsschauspiel Dresden (2009-2016), and since the 2016/17 season, Koall has been head dramaturg and deputy artistic director at Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus (Theatre Dusseldorf). Koall has adapted numerous novels for the stage, including Huxley's Brave New World and Wolfgang Herrndorf's Tschick, one of the most frequently performed plays in the 2010s. Koall is an honorary member of Christopher Street Day Dresden e.V.
