Vanessa L. Kitzie is an Associate Professor in the School of Information Science and Affiliate Faculty in Women’s and Gender Studies at the University of South Carolina, USA. She holds a PhD in Communication, Library, and Information Science from Rutgers University. She received the 2025 University of South Carolina Garnett Apple Award for Teaching Excellence and is co-author of LGBTQIA+ Inclusive Children’s Librarianship: Queer–Positive Policies, Programs, and Practices with Lucy Santos Green, Jenna Spiering, and Julia Erlanger (2022).
