Bloomsbury Advances in Religious Studies publishes theoretically astute, evidence-based monographs and edited volumes in the field of Religious Studies or the Study of Religion/s.

Founded in 2008, the series showcases the work of new and emerging scholars as well as established, senior academics. The series aims to retain disciplinary rigour while extending the scope of Religious Studies by encouraging robust interdisciplinarity, for example through anthropological, cognitive, ethnographic, historical, psychological, sociological and textual approaches.

The series editors welcome proposals that engage creatively with theoretical questions about ‘religion’ tested against empirical data in response to contemporary debates.
