Andreana Clay is Professor of Sociology and Sexuality Studies at San Francisco State University, USA. She is the author of The Hip-Hop Generation Fights Back: Youth, Activism, and Post-Civil Rights Politics(2013). She has written articles on music, Black popular culture and queer sexuality. Her current work focuses on music, memoir, and Black community-making.
