Biography

Anna De Fina is Professor of Italian Language and Linguistics at Georgetown University, USA. Her interests focus on narrative, discourse and identity, discourse practices among immigrant and transnational communities, superdiversity. She has published extensively on these topics. Among her publications in the area of narrative are Identity in Narrative: A study of Immigrant Discourse (2003), Analyzing Narrative: Discourse and Sociolinguistic Perspectives (2011) co-authored with Alexandra Georgakopoulou, the Handbook of Narrative Analysis (2015) also co-edited with Alexandra Georgakopoulou and Narratives in the Digital World ( 2019) co-edited with Sabina Perrino. She is one of the editors of the Series Encounters, for Multilingual Matters and Discourse and Research in Narrative, Interaction, and Discourse for Routledge.
