Biography

For the last 30 years, Anthony Dawahare’s teachings and scholarship have centered on modern U.S. literatures of social protest. Relevant scholarship includes Nationalism, Marxism, and African American Literature between the Wars: A New Pandora's Box (University Press of Mississippi 2003), Tillie Olsen and the Dialectical Philosophy of Proletarian Literature (Lexington 2018), and essays/chapters on multiethnic working-class literatures published by Cambridge, Bloomsbury, Routledge, South Central Review, MELUS, African American Review, and Twentieth-Century Literature, Criticism: A Quarterly for Literature and the Arts, etc.
