Biography

Barbara G. Friedman is an Associate Professor in the Hussman School of Journalism and Media at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill (USA), where she teaches news writing, media literacy, and media history. She directs The Irina Project (TIP), which analyzes news coverage of human trafficking and advocates for the responsible and accurate reporting of the issue. She got her start in journalism at her high school newspaper and went on to write and edit for local, regional, and national news outlets.
