Gabrielle Chapdelaine is a Montréal-based francophone playwright and screenwriter. Her work includes Une journée (winner of the 2018 Prix Gratien-Gélinas and finalist for the 2023 Prix Marcel-Dubé), The Retreat (nominated for Outstanding New Text at the 2024 Montreal English Theatre Awards), and several collaborations with major Québec theatres. Her plays have been translated into English and German, and produced in Québec, the United States, Germany, and France. A graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada, she also writes for film and television and takes part in international writing residencies.
