GAYDEN WREN is the former entertainment editor for The New York Times Syndicate and a director of Off-Off Broadway and regional theater. He is also the author of the critical work A Most Ingenious Paradox: The Art of Gilbert & Sullivan (Oxford University Press, 2001) and eight plays, including A Gilbert & Sullivan Christmas Carol (1994) and Very Truly Yours, Gilbert & Sullivan (1997).
