Jessica Quiroli has been a baseball writer for over two decades. She created the baseball blog Heels on the Field in 2008. It was the first of its kind: independent, with access, for many MiLB teams and leagues, covering largely ignored issues such as unfair pay and living conditions. Quiroli’s work has appeared on MLB.com, Baseball Prospectus, FanGraphs, and The Sporting News. She has also covered sports for The Press of Atlantic City, The Worcester Times, the Trentonian, and The Durham Herald. In 2021, she began hosting the podcase series Heels on the Field: A Baseball Talk Show, featuring one guest every episode to talk about baseball, and the intersection of sports media and feminism. She was recognized by espnW as one of the top women to follow in sports on Twitter.
