John Miller is Senior Lecturer in Nineteenth-Century Literature at the University of Sheffield, UK. He is the current President of the Association for the Study of Literature and the Environment, UK and Ireland and Co-Director of the Sheffield Animal Studies Research Centre. He is the author of Empire and the Animal Body (2012), co-author of Walrus (2014) and the editor or co-editor of eight volumes including Weird Woods (2020) and The Palgrave Handbook of Literary Animal Studies (2020). He is also co-series editor of the Palgrave Studies in Animals and Literature series.
