L. Sergio Garduno, PhD, is Assistant Professor of Criminology at University of Alabama in Huntsville, USA. He previously worked as an Assistant Professor at Troy University, USA. During his time in Alabama, he was a member of the Youth Advisory Board of the Alabama Department of Youth Services – Mt. Meigs Campus. Prior to entering the academia, he worked in Maryland for a community-based organization serving at high-risk Latino youth. His research interests include gangs, juvenile delinquency, policing, and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). Sergio served as Managing Editor for the Journal Criminology & Public Policy for six years.
