Matilde Ventrella is Senior Lecturer in Law at the Law School of Liverpool John Moores University, UK. Her research interests include human trafficking and links with smuggling, with a particular focus on the Mediterranean region and on cross-border criminal organizations. Her publications include Smuggling of Migrants by Sea: EU Legal Framework and Future Perspective (2018).
