Biography

Tina Packer is the founding artistic director of Shakespeare & Company. She has directed most of Shakespeare’s plays, and acted in many of them. She has taught the entire canon at over thirty colleges in the US, including Harvard, MIT, and NYU. She wrote the Scholastic children’s book Tales from Shakespeare, which received the Parent’s Gold Medal Award. Based on her work teaching in the Columbia MBA program, she wrote Power Plays: Shakespeare’s Lessons in Leadership and Management with John Whitney. She authored Women of Will: The Remarkable Evolution of Shakespeare’s Female Characters and created the performance piece Women of Will, which she has performed throughout the US and internationally. Tina trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, where she received the Ronson Award for most Outstanding Actor.
