A redactional-critical discussion of the theme of discipleship as presented by Mark. The passages in which the theme appears are the subject of systematic and detailed examination. Particular attention is paid to 8.22-10.52 which depicts discipleship as going with Jesus on the way of the cross and resurrection. In other passages disciples are seen as having a duty towards non-disciples.
