Description
A fascinating insight into the dogfights that took place during the Six Day War, complete with first-hand accounts and fully illustrated throughout.
Although the opposing forces of the Six Day War were both flying comparable third-generation Mach 2 jet fighters, the pilots were trained to different standards, and were expected to utilize different tactics.
Using up-to-date research, first-hand accounts, and specially commissioned artwork, Shlomo Aloni tells the dramatic story of the dogfights in the skies over the Middle East.

Reviews
-
The author discusses the development of both aircraft as well as their technical specifications and deployments during the Six Day War. Pilot training and tactics are also part of the story and one will find a few 'I was there' stories to add some spice to the book. As part of the appendices, there is a section on stats and analysis as well as a listing of MiG and Mirage engagements during the war. In all, a superlative inclusion to this series and one that I know you will find useful and informative.

...an effective evaluation of two classically matched adversaries. For anyone interested in supersonic jet warfare, it makes an interesting companion volume to earlier 'Duels,' such as Peter Davies' 2008 F-4 Phantom vs MiG-21: USAF & VPAF in the Vietnam War.
