Bloomsbury Academic began as an open access book publisher in 2008. Since then the division has grown to become a leading global independent publisher focusing on the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences with offices in London, New York, Sydney and New Delhi. We have one of the largest open access book portfolios, with several hundred titles available through our rapidly expanding programme. We are committed to evolving this programme as well as adapting to change as the demand for open access increases.
We publish works of excellence and originality, selecting the highest quality content for publication in print and a range of digital formats. Through our open access publishing programme we are committed to the widest possible dissemination of research, whilst providing subject expertise and professional publishing services to authors, funders and institutions.
Visit our open access programme pages to learn about our OA publishing options and policies.
All Bloomsbury eBooks and digital resources, including all open access content, are preserved with Portico.
While open access books are included in Bloomsbury Collections subject collections for discovery purposes, they are not included in title counts used to determine collection fees. Where books are made open access retrospectively, the cost of any subject collection in which they appear is adjusted down proportionally.
We’re always happy to discuss open access issues with you, and to work with you to enable open access options for researchers at your institution.
