Biography

Prof. Bishnu Mohan Dash, M.S.W., M.Phil., PhD, ICSSR Post-Doctoral Fellow, is working as a Professor in the Department of Social Work, Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar College (University of Delhi), Delhi. He was a former Associate Professor in Rural Development, Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi. He is the recipient of the Best Teacher Award from the Government of Delhi 2019-20 and the prestigious Delhi University Excellence Award for Teachers, 2021. He is also an editorial board member/ Advisory member in several national and international journals, including Practice: Social Work in Action, Routledge, Taylor and Francis, London; Associate Editor of South Asian Journal of Participative Development; Member of the Editorial Board of Bhopal Journal of Social Work and Journal of Development Administration, Zimbabwe. He has also authored/co-authored/edited 16 books published by reputed publishers like Sage, Routledge, Rawat, Atlantic, Concept, and others. He has published more than sixty papers in various reputed national and international journals, including Sage, Routledge Emerald, Springer, Oxford, and he frequently contributes to leading national newspapers. He was also a member of the Expert Committee in the course Revision/Member, School Board, Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi; Orissa State Open University; Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwa Vidyalaya, Maharashtra; BPS University, Sonepat; and Member, Board of Studies in Social Work, Indore School of Social Work, Indore, TISS, Jagadguru Rambhacharya Divyanga University, Chitrakoot, Sardar Patel University, Anand, Deccan (DES University), and Fakir Mohan University; Member, Expert Committee, NCF, Govt. of India; Member, Expert Committee, Bharatiya Bhasha Samiti, MoE, GOI; and Member, Academic Council, Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi. Recently, Prof. Dash has been nominated as an Expert Committee Member of the Revision of the Social Work Curriculum by the University Grant Commission. He has completed a number of research projects sponsored by ICSSR and UGC and organized various workshops and seminars. His areas of interest are rural development, child welfare, and social work education.
