Biography

Jennie L. Schulze is Associate Professor of political science and Director of the Center for Migration, Displacement, and Community Studies at Duquesne University, where she teaches courses on comparative politics and international relations. Her research focuses on the influence of European institutions and kin-states on minority policies and minority integration in Central and Eastern Europe. She is the author of Strategic Frames: Europe, Russia, and Minority Inclusion in Estonia and Latvia (University of Pittsburgh, 2018). The book was awarded an Honorable Mention for the Joseph Rothschild Prize in Nationalism and Ethnic Studies. She has regularly served as an expert on Estonia and Latvia for the US Department of State and the US Department of Defense, and currently serves as Book Review Editor for Nationalities Papers. She is currently working on a new comparative book project, Cities of Bridges: Receiving Refugees in Times of Crisis.
