Rafael Tosi grew up in southwestern Uruguay. His interest in birds led to a master’s degree in zoology, studying the interactions between cowbirds and horneros. Rafael subsequently worked on several research projects and environmental impact assessments, spending long field hours studying Uruguayan wildlife. He now lives in the city of Colonia del Sacramento, where he runs his birding tour enterprise, Colonia Birding, showing visitors the wildlife of Uruguay.
