Sandra Styres
Biography
Sandra Styres is Haudenosaunee/French and English/Welsh from Montreal Quebec. She is also a former Canada Research chair in Iethi’nihsténha Ohwentsia’kékha (Land), Resurgence, Reconciliation and the Politics of Education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto. She is an associate professor in the Department of Curriculum, Teaching, who is also the director of the Indigenous Educational Research Centre and co-chair of the Deepening Knowledge Project. Her scholarship examines Indigenous issues in education across all levels and varieties of contexts that include Indigenous resurgence, philosophies and perspectives, as well as decolonizing practices.
