Biography
Stephanie Farnsworth is Lecturer at the University of Sunderland, UK, and the editor for the upcoming edited collection, Games That Haunt Us (Bloomsbury, 2026). She is founder, and a Chair, of MultiPlay, an international community of games scholars and researchers that hosts 4-5 online conferences each year. MultiPlay also has a Discord sever of nearly 300 members and large twitter following. The MultiPlay editorial board is due to publish a textbook on virtual reality and a queer studies text, both in 2025. Stephanie's research focuses upon ‘mutant theory’, expanding upon monster theory and examining the relationship audiences have to biotechnology. She writes about body horror, bodily transformations and biofuturism.
