Description
This volume will cover the uniform, personal equipment and small arms of the German Army from the eve of World War II to 1945. Its parameters are clothing and equipment worn by the individual, plus weapons and other portable items. Thus for example machine guns, gas masks, winter coats etc are covered; tanks, aircraft, and heavy artillery are not. (Heavier items may be mentioned where they appear in background photos - but are not the main subject matter)
The German Army in the Second World War is relatively well covered in English and in recent years. However the best colour titles are expensive and niche, and some of the classic texts are out of date or out of print. The target for the new work is a substantial audience with mid range cost and quality illustration. Detailed captions to pictures help relieve text and carry some less familiar ideas.
