The final chapter has been expanded and revised to take into account developments since 2011. This third edition is thoroughly updated and revised throughout and benefits from our recently refreshed series design.

Reviews
-
Arblaster ably demonstrates that the Low Countries have always been a crossroads in Europe, with a diversity of people. It was true when the Romans first invaded in 57 BC, and is still true in the 21st century.
John B. Roney, Sacred Heart University, USA

Paul Arblaster's revised History of the Low Countries remains a most useful introduction to this dynamic region for students and researchers alike. In this day and age, the book's cross-temporal and transnational approach seems more valuable than ever.
Jonas Roelens, Ghent University, Belgium
