The world of international trade is undergoing a period of profound transformation. Shifting geopolitical dynamics, the reconfiguration of global supply chains, the rise of digital trade, and growing concerns related to sustainability, public health, and economic inequality have placed unprecedented pressures on the multilateral trading system. International trade continues to play a central role in structuring economic relations among states and in shaping domestic regulatory choices. As the world grapples with climate change, resource depletion, and widening economic disparities, the legal frameworks governing international commerce must evolve beyond their traditional focus on market liberalisation and profit maximisation. In light of these developments, Bennett University and Centre for Trade and Investment Law organised the International Conference on Multidisciplinary Approach to Achieving Sustainability in Trade, Investment, and Competition Law from 27 to 29 November 2024 at the School of Law, Bennet University, Greater Noida. The conference proceedings and submission by the authors provided a forum for intensive three-day discussions on the multipolar world and intersection of economic law and with Sustainability. This edited volume seeks to examine these developments through rigorous legal analysis and informed critical reflection.
