Description
Empower learners to engage with AI through the metaliteracy framework, developing ethical producers of generative content.
As the AI revolution unfolds, learners must develop new ways of engaging with technologies that shape how information is created, shared, and understood. This book explores how individuals can become ethical knowledge producers in AI-mediated environments. Featuring innovative theories and inspiring case studies, it demonstrates how metaliteracy empowers learners to approach AI with critical awareness, reflection, and responsibility.
Metaliteracy prepares learners to participate actively in evolving information environments. Within this framework, individuals take on a range of dynamic roles-including author, collaborator, researcher, and teacher-as they create and share knowledge. Metaliterate learners engage with generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, DALL·E, and Sora to produce artistic, literary, scientific, and scholarly forms of text, image, and video. These activities take place across learning contexts that range from libraries and digital media arts to virtual exchange, digital workspaces, and emerging environments such as the metaverse.
The chapters present innovative and adaptable approaches for integrating AI and metaliteracy across disciplines and educational contexts. Drawing on the work of researchers and practitioners from around the world, the volume highlights how educators are reimagining teaching and learning to prepare learners for responsible participation in AI-mediated knowledge environments.
