A. Sacit Açikgözoglu is a professor at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University’s Department of Traditional Turkish Arts, teaching book arts, inscriptions, and Ottoman architecture. He obtained a PhD in Turkish Art from Marmara University (2002) and after training with renowned calligraphy masters, he earned an icazet in Ebru in 2005. He researched Turkish manuscript bookbinding at the British Library (2022–23) and taught Ebru and Akkase Ebru at the Prince’s School of Traditional Arts and Yunus Emre Institute. A prolific exhibitor, he directs SunbulEfendiEbrihanesi in Istanbul, mentors apprentices, and contributes to cultural restoration projects as a Yunus Emre Foundation Trustee.
