Biography

Arjan Zuiderhoek is Associate Professor of Ancient History at Ghent University, Belgium. He has published widely on the social and political history of Greek cities under Roman rule. His books include The Politics of Munificence in the Roman Empire: Citizens, Elites and Benefactors in Asia Minor (2009), The Ancient City (2017) and he co-edited Benefactors and the Polis: The Public Gift in the Greek Cities from the Homeric World to Late Antiquity (2021).
