Biography

Daud Ali is Associate Professor of South Asia Studies at University of Pennsylvania, USA. He is the author of Courtly Culture and Political Life in Early Medieval India (2004) and Querying the Medieval: The History of Practice in South Asia (2000; with Ronald Inden and Jonathan Walters). He is also the editor and co-editor of several volumes, including Knowledge Production, Pedagogy and Institutions in Colonial India (2011; with Indra Sengupta), Ethical Life in South Asia (2010; with Anand Pandian) and Invoking the Past: the Uses of History in South Asia (1999).
