Kate Herrity is the Kings College, UK and Mellon Foundation Research Fellow in punishment. She focuses on sound as a theoretical lens for exploring social life, emotion and the basis of order in prisons. She is co-editor of Sensory Penalities (2021) and the forthcoming International Handbook of Sensory Criminology.
