Lynda Nead

Lynda Nead is Visiting Professor of the History of Art at The Courtauld, London, UK. Her books include Victorian Babylon: People, Streets and Images in Nineteenth-Century London (2000), The Haunted Gallery: Painting, Photography, Film c. 1900 (2008), The Tiger in the Smoke: Art and Culture in Post-war Britain (2017) and The Female Nude: Art, Obscenity and Sexuality (2024). Her most recent book is British Blonde: Women, Desire and the Image in Post-War Britain (2025).
