Matthijs Lok

Matthijs Lok is senior lecturer of Modern European History at the Department of History and European Studies of the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands. He has published extensively on transnational conservatism, antiliberalism and Counter-Enlightenment, among other research interests. Recent publications include the monograph Europe against Revolution (2023) and the co-edited volumes The Politics of Moderation (2019), Cosmopolitan Conservatisms (2021) and Antiliberal Internationalism (2025).
