This new series will publish the most innovative and cutting-edge research in the field of cultural history. It will grapple with questions and issues such as how gender and race are embodied, the cultural aspects of environmental change, and the cultural-political entanglements of preserving and presenting the past. Titles will push the boundaries of the field by employing new methods and approaches such as digital history, or will engage with new fields such as critical heritage studies. It will seek to transcend national boundaries by conceiving of subjects in a global and transnational context. As a platform for new innovations in cultural history, this series aims to give both an overview of the current state of the field, and to push its boundaries. From digital humanities and cultures, to the cultures of medical humanities and environmental cultural history, it will engage with a range of new methods. Critically reflecting upon the approaches and traditions typically used by cultural historians, Cultural History and Historical Culture will open up the field to new challenges and opportunities.
