Research in Horror Studies publishes original and interdisciplinary monographs and edited volumes that expand our understanding of horror as an important cultural phenomenon. The series is particularly interested in critical approaches to horror that explore prominent questions surrounding horror's widespread and persistent presence in culture, its resonance with audiences, and the common themes and narratives its popularity reveals.
The series covers a wide range of periods, movements, and cultures that are pertinent to horror studies. While works related to individual key figures - including directors, authors, showrunners, and characters - will be gladly considered, its primary aim is to publish work that engaged more broadly with horror's place within and across cultures. Given the interdisciplinary scope of the series, projects addressing a range of media formats and diverse disciplinary approaches are encouraged.
