Books in the Security and the Environment series will focus on: the geostrategic implications of environmental change for international security, particularly in terms of US interests; assessment, forecast, prevention, and mitigation of environmental security destabilizers; crisis response policies and programs of national governments and international governance organizations; regional security impacts of environmental change in Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, the Americas, and the Arctic; the impacts of environmental change on US military systems, infrastructure, and operations; and opportunities available to the US Department of Defense for operational energy efficiencies, early adoption of green technologies, and international humanitarian engagement.
