The authors approach textiles from all angles, including fibers, manufacturing processes, care and installation. What I like most of all is that it teaches students about all the organizations out there, the standards, and why it is important to know about the textile before you select them for an installation. It really hits multiple viewpoints which is essential for being a successful designer.

I have reviewed several books over the past 10 years and continue to adopt this text due to the book's strong applications within the fields of Interior Design and Architecture; it shows academic as well as practical knowledge that students need upon graduation. As a practicing designer it should be kept as reference material for all new graduates.
