Biography

C. Mike Habermehl has researched the history of B-47 since 1971, and is co-author of the definitive and highly successful Boeing B-47 Stratojet: Strategic Air Command’s Transitional Bomber. His 50-year quest has led him to archives across the United States and brought him into contact with nearly all of the key figures in the Stratojet story, including test pilot Bob Robbins, a long-time friend and supporter of Mike’s research. Habermehl has accumulated perhaps the largest private collection of documents, technical manuals, photographs and artefacts associated with the B-47. A retired public school administrator in Information Technology and an ordained minister, Mike was editor of the B-47 Association Newsletter and also the organization’s chaplain. His articles on the B-47 have appeared in journals such as FlyPast and The Aviation Historian. He lives in Texas.
