Cameron Tonkinwise is Professor of Design Studies at the University of Technology Sydney, Australia, where he teaches Service and Social Design and is the Research Director of the Design Innovation Research Centre. Previously, he was Director of Design Doctoral Studies at Carnegie Mellon University, USA, where he developed Transition Design as a new field of study with Terry Irwin and Gideon Kossoff, and Co-Chair of the Tishman Environment and Design Center at Parsons School of Design, The New School, USA, where he established Design Studies programs and reshaped traditional thinking around how designers should be educated.
