Biography
John Curtis is President of the British Institute for the Study of Iraq, UK. He was previously Keeper of the Middle East Department at the British Museum from 1989 until 2011. In 2003, he was elected a Fellow of the British Academy. He specialises in the art and archaeology of Iraq and Iran, with particular focus on the metal work of the Late Assyrian Period.
